Need... INTERNETS!

Internet Explorer? Firefox? Chrome? Safari? Opera?

With so many ways to browse the Internet, how can one choose? Personally, I prefer Firefox. I like to say that it pioneered the path of deviation from the tyrant known as IE. My only major gripe with Firefox is that it tends to be a memory hog.

What about you? What's your drug of choice when it comes to scratching that Internet itch?

2012

I'm one of the unfortunate few that require corrective lenses. Glasses are too much of a bother and create a lot of dependency, so I just stick with contacts. I asked my brother to grab some contact solution for me and the bottle he brought expires on December 2012.

It makes me wonder... the proverbial "end of the world" is only a year away. What will happen? Zombie apocalypse? Alien invasion? Spontaneous combustion? What about my contact solution? Will I get to use all of it before the world ends?

What do you fine ladies and gentlemen think? Do you believe this mumbo jumbo?

I just want to thank everybody, this wouldn't be possible without any of you!

Woo hoo indeed, Home boy... woo hoo indeed.

Baldie baldie baldie

So, I was shopping with my sisters at Wal-Mart today and I saw an older gentleman with his wife at the checkout. This fellow had the most impressive comb-over I have ever seen in my entire life. The comb-over started just above his left ear and wrapped the entire top portion of his head. This was just beyond belief... I could have sworn that he had at least 10 inches of hair (that's 25.4 centimeters for my metric friends) growing out of the side of his head and being pulled over to the side.

Why do guys do this? Embrace the male pattern baldness! More people will point and laugh at your comb-over than your bald head. Besides, the reason why male pattern baldness occurs is because of a testosterone ABUNDANCE. That means, you are so manly that your hair cowers in fear.

Bald is beautiful. Britney agrees... right Britney?

$$$

Today was a pretty good day. I got a B on my essay (damn you Batman) and I got out early from my last class. As I was waiting for my ride home, I saw $20 on the floor. I looked around and very calmly (see: diving headfirst) picked up the bill and put it in my pocket.

Have you ever found money on the floor? If so, what's the most you've ever found?

P.S: Briefcases full of money don't count.

New Phone Suggestions

My brother is in the market for a new cell phone and we both have T-Mobile.  He usually buys the phone out of contract because he has the old (now grandfathered) $5.99 T-Zones data plan and it still works for his data usage.  Right now, I'm using his hand me down G1.  However, if I can convince him to get a new phone that he likes better than his Nexus One, he'll give me his Nexus One for free :)

He doesn't mind going to another carrier, so that really eases the burden.  I figured I've been getting a lot of good input on these posts, so why not ask my lovely commenters?  What kind of phone and what carrier are you using?  How do you feel about the two?

So, I'm taking an English class at my local community college and the professor is absolutely obsessed with Batman. We're talking near OCD about him. "It can't be that bad" you might be thinking. Well, rather than buying a regular text book for the class, we have to buy comic books.

Yeah, that's right... comic books.

It's not as bad as it may seem, but it's a little difficult to take a college level course (and professor) seriously when all you do in the class is read and write about ol' Bruce Wayne. So it got me thinking... this guy is batty about Batman (see what I did there?). What about the rest of the world?

Who is your favorite superhero?

Program Recommendation

Hey guys and gals. I was looking back on my review for F.lux and I thought about another piece of free software that I use on a regular basis. Many of you might have already heard of it, but it's definitely worth mentioning. That program my friends... is Piriform's CCleaner. Pronounced "SEE-KLEEN-IR" and not "SEE-SEE-KLEEN-IR" as I know lots of people who make such a mistake. The "C" stands for crap and that's exactly what this awesome program cleans up! With a simple click, the program can clear out your internet cache, cookies, temp files, and all kinds of stuff. You can also filter out your favorite sites so that it does not delete cookies for those sites.

This program is always on my flash drive that I keep with me in case a friend's or family member's computer needs a tune up. You can download it for free on Piriform's website. Did I mention it was free?

As the saying goes... the best things in life are free!

2011 VW Jetta

So I've been in the market for a new car and I've been seeing a lot of billboards for the new Volkswagen Jetta.  I'm not too crazy about the design (always felt like it was a girl's car), but I have to be honest... the price is pretty tempting despite all the negative reviews.  What do you all think?  Let's hear it in the comments :)

Save your eyes and maybe even sleep better

I just wanted to let you guys know about a neat program called F.lux. It's really helpful for late night PC users.  F.lux makes the color of your computer's display adapt to the time of day, making the color scheme warmer (more red) at night.  By doing this, F.lux makes your computer screen look like the room you're in, all the time. When the sun sets, it makes your computer look like your indoor lights. In the morning, it makes things look like sunlight again.  The purpose of the color change is to remind your brain that the sun has set.  Most people keep their monitors at a high brightness where white looks more cool (bluer).  The problem with this is that it tricks the brain into thinking that it's also bright outside as well, so you tend to stay up later.

I've been using this program for a while now and so far, I am enjoying it. While there is a small performance lag once F.lux starts to kick in, it disappears once the color scheme has been set.  Also, F.lux does not work for most full-screen games, but it should work just fine for windowed games.  Personally, I feel like I am less restless at night and have less difficulty falling asleep as well.

Anyways, get it at their website: http://stereopsis.com/flux/

Welcome!

Hey everyone. Welcome to my first blog. I'm kind of a laid back gamer, but I do have some technical know-how and I like to dabble in all kinds of things that interest me.  So, you are most likely going to see a lot of random things (the mind is a weird thing), but mostly will depend on what I feel like blabbing about.  I hope you guys enjoy!
