2012

I'm one of the unfortunate few that require corrective lenses. Glasses are too much of a bother and create a lot of dependency, so I just stick with contacts. I asked my brother to grab some contact solution for me and the bottle he brought expires on December 2012.

It makes me wonder... the proverbial "end of the world" is only a year away. What will happen? Zombie apocalypse? Alien invasion? Spontaneous combustion? What about my contact solution? Will I get to use all of it before the world ends?

What do you fine ladies and gentlemen think? Do you believe this mumbo jumbo?

  1. I am actually concerned about a zombie/infected apocalypse. I mean, I have a legitimate fear of this. Sometimes when I'm outside at night and it's dark without a single sound of a car or anything, I imagine right at the end of my street the first zombie/infect I've ever seen. He would be running and I would stare, then he would stop and look directly at me then let out a scream (Much like the ghouls in fallout) and chase me.

I try to think about my escape plan or my survival plan, where I'm gonna go, how I'm gonna get food..

    I'm scared TT^TT

  2. just live life to the fullest, and you won't have to worry about 2011, 2012 or any other year.

  3. Zombie apocalypse is a threat if they ever weaponize prions. I'm wondering how long until the US ends up in civil war or at least so dysfunctional it ceases to be a country anymore. Shit will get scary then. Other then that, no, the world won't end. People will keep on going.

  6. Just like Raw said... This is all hype, just like the whole Y2K thing was.

Also, I used to have corrective lenses until I got laser eye surgery. Best decision I ever made!

  8. People will always exist, well for at least as long as an of us or our foreseeable offspring are around.

I can see things happening like the end of the American economy, that would cause a lot of problems, and things would change drastically, but we would keep going. As for 2012, I think it's mumbo jumbo.

  18. Haha, love the pic! I think it's fascinating that our generation will have lived through 3 different apocalypses:

    Y2K
May 2011 (according to some nutty Christians)
    December 2012

    Weird, huh?

  20. I don't think anything will happen, but if it does, why worry about it now? If it happends it happends.

  23. I also wear contacts.
It seems like everything today expires on December 2012.

  24. Here's the thing, if you use your current supply, then buy more with a date AFTER 2012, then by simple logic, the world will obviously continue past 2012. Problem solved.

  25. There's no way anyone can predict the exact date that a planet that is billions of years old will end.

  26. I'm really hoping for a zombacalypse (zombie apocalypse) since I've been preparing myself for many years now. I have plans wherever I am, and always have in the back of my head what I need to do to survive if a zombie outbreak should occur at any given moment.

  27. i don't think the zombie apocalypse will be linked to 2012, we've got another few years at least.

  28. Only idiots believe in 2012 crap.

  32. Zombie apocalypse obviously, everybody should invest a large amount of their money in anti-zombie shelters immediately.

  33. All Hollywood bull crap. The Mayans just got lazy and stopped writing there calendar.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I love the Zombie thought. But yes, just because the Mayans stopped their calendar doesn't mean anything, just a new year. They believed that it was the end of the year, just like we think of December 31st at midnight.
Bit I too use contacts, but I feel that they take up alot of dependency, needing a case, solution, wash hands, and to get up every morning and night to deal with the putting in and taking out. And unless you got a HUGE bottle of solution I think you'll run out before the year ends.
Do you use renu or optifree? I prefer optifree but renu is cheaper.

  35. It's always prudent to be ready for the zombie apocalypse. You will need handguns for the individual zombies, machine guns for the hoardes of zombies, and armor-piercing explosives for the... armored zombies...

  36. December 12th, 2012, is the day that international prohibition of internet porn will begin. Chaos will ensue only minutes after.
